06/22/07 -- Salem and Goshen, IN: Two years ago Troyer Foods, Inc., headquartered in Goshen, IN acquired Sure Fine Foods in Evansville, IN and last year grew their presence in southern Indiana with the addition of many of Cadick Foods’ customers and staff. Last month Troyer Foods, Inc. (with $160 million in sales) completed the acquisition of Beasley Food Service, in Bloomington, IN. This past week, Troyer Foods has signed a preliminary purchase agreement with Jerry McClellan, President of Frozen Food Service dba Salem Food Service in Salem, IN. Salem Food Service is a broad line food service distributor. On Saturday evening, June 2, 2007 the warehouse suffered a severe fire due to a lightning strike and incurred significant damage to their building and inventory. After evaluation of the damage and much hard work at discerning the best long term opportunity to continue a tradition of outstanding customer service and quality products – and the least short term interruption to customers, the decision was made to join the team of Troyer Foods, Inc., headquartered in Goshen, IN. Deliveries continued to customers thanks to the outstanding teamwork of both the Salem and Troyer associates. Troyer’s acquisition of Salem Food Service, especially at this time will assure customers of even better opportunities for service, quality products and an even expanded network of product lines and support staff. Jerry McClellan joins the Troyer team, as does Jim Clark, Sales Director and the current sales and transportation staff. We are confident that this will be mutually beneficial to our customers, our community and our trusted employees. Together, we offer a winning team moving forward to be the premier food service and retail provider for Indiana and the surrounding states. We look forward to our continued growth together with our valued customers, vendors and communities.
